"Arbutus was founded with a belief that there was a need for a specialist technical consulting firm bridging the gap between technology, industry and end customers. For example, setting up a utility-scale solar PV power plant requires a tremendous amount of skilful coordination between various technology, design, engineering, installation and managerial elements. We have been focused on building a world-class multi-disciplinary team capable of understanding client requirements globally and translating them into project deliverables. We envisage a future driven mainly by clean and renewable energy, predominantly solar. Some of our areas of focus are solar PV, energy storage and electric mobility sector and we have been rewarded with the trust of over 250 clients served since 2005."

Dr P. Jayakumar is one of the foremost experts in the clean technology space in India having spent nearly three decades across the solar PV value chain. He founded Arbutus Consultants Pvt Ltd in the early 2000s sensing the need for a specialist technical consulting firm bridging the gap between technology, industry and end customers. His 45+ years of experience in the fields of electrical maintenance, power electronics and solar energy has helped Arbutus evolve into a world-class, multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting firm. In addition to mentoring the leadership at Arbutus Consultants Pvt Ltd, he is helping to build new businesses for emerging sectors. He has worked in various countries like India, Indonesia, Japan, UK, USA, Austria, Indonesia, Singapore, Spain, Australia and Germany.
With over 17 years of cross-functional experience covering areas like project management, business development, international alliances, process improvements and consulting, he is responsible for achieving the company’s strategic objectives. He co-founded Arbutus Consultants Pvt Ltd while still in graduate school. His focus at ACPL is to put together and facilitate a team of highly capable professionals. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from GEC and MBA from IIT Mumbai. He is a senior member of IEEE. He is widely travelled and has carried out assignments in various countries like India, UK, USA, Singapore, Germany and Egypt.

Mr. Chytanya Abhyankar formerly headed the operations at Arbutus Consultants Pvt Ltd providing deep expertise and technical guidance to the team of consultants and engineers. His hands-on experience with consulting for multiple solar energy projects gives him a tremendous edge in terms of understanding the nuances and directions of the industry. He has over 25 years of experience in the domains of power electronics, DC machines, industrial automation and solar energy. He has worked on assignments in Europe and Africa.

Mr. Sadanandan has an experience of over 40years and was earlier the Chief Operating Officer at Arbutus Consultants. He has guided the team on projects involving activities like witness of PR test, site assessment, construction monitoring support during commissioning. He is also involved in performance evaluation of solar PV power projects and lender’s independent engineering assignments.
